Michael de Larrabeiti's fourteenth book is a comical, satirical thriller which investigates the world of the Friends of Diana, a semi-religious sect that worships the memory of the adored Princess.

Princess Diana’s Revenge was submitted to more than 30 publishers and refused by them, even though its author has written more than 14 critically-acclaimed books. In these days of celebrity publishing the traditional publisher is less and less likely to undertake the slightest risk – or was it the subject matter of this book that made every publisher in England so timorous?

Luckily, for the independent minded writer, the internet now allows the publishing establishment to be completely bypassed. Princess Diana’s Revenge is one of the first books written by an established author to be published, promoted and distributed through the internet.

Synopsis

Joe Rapps was convinced he’d wandered into The Arabian Nights. He’d spent three years in jail for killing two youngsters in a car crash, driving while drunk, and when he stepped out of Wandsworth prison that night it was in the expectation that the father of the victims would be waiting for him. So far so bad, because the father was Sunshine Leary, a tough London criminal to whom killing was second nature.

But something or someone held Sunshine back. A bishop appeared next, in a stretch limousine driven by a mysterious Russian. It didn’t make sense. It made even less sense when the Bishop took Joe to an Oxfordshire village called Milton Magna, where the inhabitants were, to say the least, slightly eccentric. Something was definitely up!

And then a mysterious Countess appeared: beautiful and as rich as Croesus. Joe smelt a large rat – what could a Countess want with him?

He was soon to find out; she wanted Joe’s expertise but the scheme she outlined was extraordinary and fraught with danger. It smelt of death. Joe didn’t like the set up at all, but he had no option other than to go along with it. The Countess had Sunshine Leary on a long leash; she could slip it at any time, and Joe would be definitely dead. He was in serious trouble, but that was just the beginning. There was more to come: after all – this was Princess Diana's Revenge!
